Public Safety

The Public Safety exhibit showcases the emergency personnel from our local fire and police departments. The job of the police is to protect our lives, protect our property and maintain order through the enforcement of laws. By role playing, youngsters gain a better understanding and respect for the broad responsibilities of our police officers in our Public Safety exhibit. Kids can also “Stop, Drop, and Roll!” in the fire station portion of this exhibit. Kiddos: put your fire hats on and save the day! Learn about fire safety, ride in a real fire truck, and slide down the firefighter poll. Become a hero when you learn about fire safety in this zone.

This exhibit renovation is a wonderful representation of how the community supports the children’s museum. The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department and Kearney Police Department worked together to make this renovation possible as they used their time, resources, and visionary-mindset to make this space a reality. The children will love pretending to be fearless firefighters and courageous police officers as they dream big in this wonderful exhibit. This exhibit not only highlights a part of our community but provides children with an avenue for positive role-play, critical thinking, and continued public safety education.
