Join us for our “Backwards Parade on 4th Avenue!
We are excited to be hosting a “Backwards Parade” this Saturday- one where the parade entries stand on the sidewalks and the parade attendees drive down the street. The parade will take place beginning at 56th Street and 4th Avenue heading north leading to the Museum, through their parking lot and back out to 60th Street.
Ensuring that COVID social distancing measures are strictly followed, characters including superheroes and other local favorites will be on the East sidewalk along 4th Ave from 56th Street to 60th St. this Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
We invite you to hop in the car with your family and cruise down 4th Ave. With a fun, printable, “road-trip” type game available for download from their Facebook page the museum encourages you to engage in a drive-through game of “I-Spy” from the safety and comfort of your own vehicle. It is even encouraged to have families decorate their cars and make fun, encouraging signs to share with the characters, if they so desire.
Families are invited to enjoy the parade by driving along the route and interacting by waving at their favorite characters. Will you spy a bearcat? A princess? A dinosaur? We shall see! Families can print or save the image from the Facebook event page or the museum Facebook page and check off the characters that they can “spy”.
This event is free and open to the public. Families are welcome to enjoy the parade anytime between 10:00-11:00am and are welcome to drive through multiple times. Please abide by all traffic laws and do not stop nor exit your vehicle.
